ONEANEWS.com – Kendari Tax Office (KPP Pratama) continues to strengthen tax compliance in strategic sectors through socialization activities for the issuance of A1 Withholding Certificates and Tax Corner services in the form of Coretax account activation and assistance in reporting Annual Tax Returns at PT Sulawesi Cahaya Mineral located in Routa, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.

The event was attended by 16 division heads of PT Sulawesi Cahaya Mineral and more than 29 contractor taxpayers who are partners in the company’s mining operations. In addition to the outreach, the Kendari Pratama Tax Office (KPP Pratama) team also opened a Tax Corner to provide direct assistance to participants in activating their Coretax accounts and filing their annual tax returns.

Based on data from the issuance of Tax Deduction Certificate A1 (BPA1) reported by the company’s treasurer or finance department, PT Sulawesi Cahaya Mineral is estimated to have over 600 employees. With such a large workforce, this initiative is a crucial step to ensure employees understand and fulfill their tax obligations correctly and on time.

This activity also demonstrates the synergy between tax authorities and businesses in supporting regional economic development. According to regional economic data, the mining and quarrying sector is a key driver of the economy in Southeast Sulawesi, contributing approximately 20.24 percent to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). This substantial contribution demonstrates the critical role mining plays in driving economic growth while supporting state revenue through taxes.

The Tax Corner Officer from the Kendari Pratama Tax Office, Muhammad Sabri, said that this direct service activity is expected to make it easier for taxpayers to fulfill their tax obligations.

“Through this activity, we want to ensure that employees and company partners can more easily understand the Coretax account activation process and the annual tax return reporting process. This direct assistance also provides a consultation platform for taxpayers regarding their tax obligations,” explained Sabri.

One of the taxpayers from a contractor company who attended the activity said that the Tax Corner socialization and service activities were very helpful in understanding tax obligations.

“We’ve been greatly helped by this program, especially in understanding the annual tax return (SPT) reporting and using the Coretax system. With direct assistance from tax officials, the process has become clearer and easier to understand,” he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Service Section of the Kendari Pratama Tax Office, Robert Marhuradja, emphasized that collaboration with business actors is an important part of improving tax compliance, especially in the mining sector which has a large contribution to the regional economy.

“Coordination and collaboration with PT Sulawesi Cahaya Mineral is a strategic step to raise tax awareness in the mining sector. Through outreach and direct services like this, we hope our employees and partners can fulfill their tax obligations easily, correctly, and on time,” said Robert.
